Master of Science in Sport Management
The Master of Science in Sport Management provides students with knowledge and skills directly related to the planning, design, implementation, and evaluation of sport programs and offers solutions to practical problems in the sport management field. The program is designed both for individuals already working in the sport management industry as well as for individuals who are new to the industry and looking to make a career change into the more specialized field of sport management.
The program is offered as a part-time, two-year graduate program. The program is offered both on-campus and online in order to meet the needs of a diverse population, including the busy sport industry professional.
The program incorporates four main points of emphasis – sport business, sport marketing, sport media and sport law. Covering a wide range of areas of study this focus allows students to match their skills, abilities, and interests with a specific niche of the sport industry. Each focus area is broad enough to incorporate a significant number of job opportunities but specific enough to allow students to concentrate on an area of expertise within the industry, giving students a distinct advantage by allowing them to gain the necessary skills and knowledge to be successful in their chosen field.
Graduates are expected to be leaders in their chosen area of interest by incorporating the various perspectives from the multidisciplinary training and applying them to current issues in sport and society.
