Drexel Food Lab

Overview

The Drexel Food Lab is an interdisciplinary research group that aims to solve real-world problems in the areas of recipe development, product development and product ideation.  Current projects are focused in the areas of sustainability, health promotion, and non-communicable disease prevention to develop affordable, sustainable and healthy food products and recipes. 

The Drexel Food Lab conducts multifaceted projects for the food industry, government and non-profit partners, as well as its own commercially viable products that provide sustainability for the lab in the form of technology transfer.

While the Drexel Food Lab is fully self-supporting via contracts with industry, collaborative grants stemming from pro bono work and revenue from developed food products, additional funding is needed for equipment and facility improvements, updates and acquisitions.
