Best Practices
Annual Performance Evaluations
At Drexel and DUCOM, raises are merit-based, meaning that the size of an employee's raise is commensurate with the employee's performance over the past year. Therefore, in order to receive the raise you deserve, an accurate and comprehensive self-evaluation is important. We strongly suggest that as a Drexel or DUCOM employee, you consider the evaluation process to last throughout a full calendar year, and take notes on your performance accordingly. Don't just concentrate on the positives – while it is important to have a list of projects on which you have performed well, it is equally important to keep track of how you have done in more challenging situations. If you didn't achieve a goal or make a deadline, is there a good reason why? How did you work to rectify the situation? It is helpful to have these answers when filling out your evaluation.
For more tips on evaluating your performance, visit the How to Evaluate Your Performance page.
Annual Compliance Information
Each year, in addition to completing their evaluations, employees must also submit a Conflict of Interest, through
DrexelOne, and take the Preventing Workplace Harassment discrimination and harassment program, through
BbVista, in order to be eligible for merit increases. You will be emailed about both the Conflict of Interest and Preventing Workplace Harassment when it is time to complete them.
Computer Usage
As a Drexel or DUCOM employee, it is important to remember that your office computer is Drexel University property, and it should be used solely for work purposes. That said, you should also protect your computer and accounts just as you would your home computer, which means you should not download potentially hazardous files or share your account information.
