Drexel Hiring Guides

Trainings

The Talent Acquisition team will be providing several trainings on the topics listed below. If you are interested in attending, please visit Career Pathway (available through the Employees tab in DrexelOne) and register for a course.  For more information, please email Courtney Price at cnp45@drexel.edu.

  • I-9 Training: The I-9 is an employment eligibility verification document that is required by the federal government for all employees. Employees outside of Human Resources who complete this form for new hires, such as student employees and adjuncts, are required to attend this training in order to continue completing this form on behalf of Human Resources.
  • Interview Skills Training: Interviewing is a skill most managers rarely receive training on and with laws changing frequently, this training will ensure you are up to date on how to interview to hire qualified persons without unlawful discrimination.
  • Reference Checking Training: References are the most important part of ensuring your potential new hire is who they say they are. HR recommends at least 2 out of the three references on applications be checked. HR can complete these references for you at your request, but more often than not, the hiring managers are completing them. This training will show you how to complete references effectively to ensure you have the most information possible to make your hiring decision.
  • International Hiring Training: In conjunction with the International Students & Scholars Services and the International Tax Office departments, this training will walk hiring managers through the details, costs, timelines and pitfalls of hiring foreign nationals to work at Drexel. Coming in 2012!
