SEPTA Compass Program

Compass SEPTA Program

The SEPTA ComPass Program is a SEPTA-sponsored and Drexel/DUCOM subsidized program that provides a 10% discount (5% by SEPTA, 5% by Drexel/DUCOM) on monthly commuter passes to eligible faculty and professional staff. It is available to all full-time and part-time benefits-eligible Drexel/DUCOM employees.

There are two types of passes available through the ComPass Program:

  • A Transpass enables you to travel and transfer with no limit on buses, trolleys and subways within the City of Philadelphia.
  • A Trailpass offers you unlimited travel up to the zone shown on the face of the pass on suburban bus routes, Regional Rail trains and all transit routes within the City of Philadelphia.

How do I purchase a commuter pass through the Drexel/SEPTA Employee ComPass Program?

  1. Log in to DrexelOne and select the “Employees” tab
  2. Select the Benefits Service Center link under Benefits Administration
  3. Select Commuter Program from the navigation bar
  4. Select "Click here to enroll" under the SEPTA ComPass Program
  5. Follow the instructions to purchase the pass.  Passes will be mailed to your home address.


Orders are limited to one pass per month and you must pay with a major credit card.  If you no longer need a pass that you have purchased, you may be entitled to a full or prorated refund through SEPTA. Please see the SEPTA refund page for details. Drexel is not responsible for any refunds for unwanted passes. When do I purchase a commuter pass through the ComPass Program?

The order deadline is the 10th of the month, one month in advance. For example, the deadline to order a November pass is October 10th.

How does the ComPass Program work with my Mass Transit Flexible Spending Account (FSA)?

In addition to receiving a 10% discount, employees who are eligible for FSA participation can use pre-tax dollars to purchase their passes and save even more! Enroll in the Mass Transit FSA Plan for the amount of your discounted pass and it will come out of your pay on a pre-tax basis, lowering your taxable income and saving you money! Every time you purchase a pass through the ComPass Program, your purchase will automatically be submitted to our FSA administrator, who will reimburse you with your own tax-free money.

Up to $230 per month is reimbursable (reduced by any employer discount amount).

This commuter pass discount program is provided as an alternative to driving personal vehicles to work. Full-time and benefits-eligible part-time faculty and professional staff who currently have Drexel/Tenet parking permits may not participate in the ComPass Program simultaneously.
