New Students

New Student Housing Assignments are made based on the date the housing application is received. In cases where preferred roommates are involved, the earlier application date will be used. June 15th is the application deadline and the last date for new freshmen to be guaranteed housing.

Residency & Meal Plan Requirement: Drexel University requires all non-transfer, first-year students under the age of 21 at the time of application to live in the University residences for their first three quarters of housing. The only exceptions to this residency requirement are for married students or students who reside with their parents and/or permanent guardian and commute to campus. The University requires that all first-year, non-transfer students participate in a campus board plan. Students transferring to Drexel from other institutions are also required to participate in a campus board plan.

Returning Students
Housing for returning students is based on a first-come, first-serve basis. During Room Selection (typically during the Winter Quarter) when you submit your housing application, your application will be time stamped. When making assignments we place all students in order by the time they submitted their applications. Priority is given to students who have/had a housing assignment anytime during the current housing year.

For students applying with one or more preferred roommate:
Each student must submit a housing application indicating all of your preferred roommates on the application. You and your preferred roommates will EACH have your applications time stamped. The earliest submission time from the group will be used to house the group.

Note: Drexel University does not discriminate on the basis of race, national or ethnic origin, sexual orientation, physical disability or religion, and is in accordance with the provisions of Title IX of the Higher Education Act 1972 in regard to non-discrimination on the basis of sex.
