  • Things to Consider Before Applying
Submitting a housing application and accepting an assignment is a serious decision that required considerable forethought. The following questions should be considered before applying.

    • Review your budget for the coming year. Have you determined how you will pay for housing? Have you looked at whether your co-op earnings will impact your expected family contribution/financial aid?
    • Discuss your decision with your family (or whomever pays your tuition bills). You are the one ultimately responsible for your housing contract. It's better to discuss this before you apply than after you have already signed the Housing Agreement which is a binding contract.
    • Think about where you may spend your co-op. Some students move home during the six months they are on co-op while others prefer to live on campus. Many students know in advance if they intend to conduct a job search outside the area. Try to determine in advance if you will need housing while you are on co-op.
