Current Drexel Students
Current Drexel students may apply to the Honors Program only in their Freshman or Sophomore year (i.e. within first two years at Drexel).
Pre-Juniors, Juniors and Seniors are not eligible for admission into the Honors Program.
Admission into the Honors Program is a highly selective process based primarily on academic success and a small percentage of overall applications are accepted each year. Eligible students should have a minimum GPA of 3.75 or higher, offer examples of extracurricular activities and academic accomplishments, and maintain a record of conduct befitting an Honors student. In some instances, students with GPAs slightly below 3.75 may be considered for admission if they present a strong record of positive achievement in activities or studies outside the typical classroom setting, such as creative work, research, community or government service, entrepreneurship, and athletics.
- Current students must complete an Honors Program Application
- Provide a letter of recommendation from a Drexel professor or instructor. This letter of recommendation should be in a sealed envelope with your application.
- The fully completed application, essay, and letter of recommendation must be received by the Honors Office by the last business day of the WINTER term.*
- Decisions are made in SPRING term by the Honors Program Admission Committee. Students will receive a decision via email by the end of May.
Accepted students are required to attend an Honors Program Orientation at the end of Spring term. Details will be provided in the acceptance letter. Benefits of Honors Program membership will begin at the start of Fall term in the following academic year.
