With the permission of the University Writing Program Director recognition in Creative Writing is given to Honors and to non-Honors students from any major, who have taken at least five of the regularly offered Creative Writing courses listed below. Partnering with the University Writing Program and benefiting from its connection with Dragonfire, The Creative Writing Forum, and writing offerings across campus, this sequence distinguishes students who have participated in Honors-level ongoing course work in Creative Writing.

- Special Topics in Creative Writing (Summer 07 - The Graphic Novel)
- Poetry Workshop (Winter 07 - Writing Poetry for Independent Presses)
- Aesthetics of the Independent Press (Spring - 2 credits)
- Fiction Workshop (Spring 07 - Advanced Fiction Workshop)
- Peer Tutoring in Writing, UNIV 320 (Fall, Winter, Spring)
- theSmartSet.com Internship (Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer)
