Admissions Requirements

Nurse Practitioner Track: Nurse Anesthesia

The Nurse Anesthesia Program utilizes a rolling admission process, with interviews being conducted throughout the year.

Candidates who meet the admission criteria are invited for a personal interview with the program's admission committee.The criteria and personal interview will serve as the basis to accept/reject each candidate.

Candidates will be notified of the committee's decision approximately two to four weeks after the interview. Candidates who are accepted into the program are eligible to take M.S.N. core courses prior to beginning the program full time.

B.S.N. required with minimum 3.0 or above on all previous coursework.

Acceptable GRE/MAT scores required and taken within five years of application. Waived for GPA 3.5 or higher and science GPA > 3.25.

Three references required from the following who can attest to applicant's clinical knowledge, skill, and potential aptitude for graduate study:

Previous work experience

Minimum two years' recent full-time critical care experience that provide applicant with ability to assess and manage critically ill patients with varying levels of acuity. Applicants whose professional work experience includes emergency department or post-anesthesia care unit will be considered for admission based on adequate experience with invasive monitoring, vasoactive drug titration, and mechanically ventilated patients.
