- Application Fee, $75 (waived for students who apply online or submit the application during a campus visit).
- Essay: To further aid the admissions committee in evaluating your application, you must submit a personal statement of approximately 500 words (unless otherwise specified in the requirements for your program). Please refer to the Application Requirements and Deadlines for your program's specific essay topics and requirements, if applicable, before writing the essay. If your program does not have a specific essay topic, your personal statement should detail your reasons for pursuing a degree from Drexel; your short-term and long-term career plans; and how your background, experience, interests, and/or values, when combined with a Drexel degree, will enable you to pursue these goals successfully.
You may submit your essay by mail or through the Drexel University Admission Essay form.
- Letter of Recommendation: We require one letter of recommendation, two letters are preferred. Recommendation letters must include the address, phone number, and signature of the recommender. The recommendation envelope must be submitted unopened to the College of Information Science and Technology. Certificate programs do not require letters of recommendation.
Drexel University Online students may use the Electronic Letter of Recommendation form.
- Standardized Test Scores (GRE): Official copies of test results must be sent to Drexel directly from the Educational Testing Service (ETS). Drexel's test code is 2194. Drexel does not use department codes.
Most applicants are required to take the GRE. However, applicants who have at least a 3.2 cumulative GPA or 3.2 GPA in the last half of their undergraduate credits or for completed graduate studies may be eligible for admission to the master's program without taking the GRE. This decision is made by the College of Information Science and Technology after reviewing the completed application.
- TOEFL (international students only): Applicants who have not received a degree in the United States are required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). An official score report must be sent directly from the Educational Testing Service (ETS). Drexel's test code is 2194.
