Who should choose AET?

The Applied Engineering Technology program would be an excellent choice for students who are oriented to solving practical problems using engineering principles and current technology and learn best through hands-on experiences.  The laboratory and project-based curriculum provides AET graduates with the skills and knowledge they need to become leaders in their professional careers.

Students who have previously earned an associate of applied science (A.A.S.) degree in the following areas (or related fields) from accredited community colleges can usually complete their B.S. in AET in approximately two years:

• Automated manufacturing
• Robotics
• Machine tool technology
• Mechanical technology
• Electronics technology

Those who plan to pursue graduate studies, rather than immediately entering the workforce, will be prepared to enter graduate programs in a variety of fields including business and engineering.
