FAQ - Six Sigma Certification Online Green Belt and Black Belt Training
Q: How long is the training?
Six Sigma certification online Green Belt Training is 48 hours of instruction with additional coursework required in the form of, for example, quizzes, threaded discussions, and project work. The average time to complete the training is 12 weeks for eGreenBelt. There is an expectation of 1-2 hours each working day, but the program is completely self-paced, so you can go as fast or as slow as you want.
Six Sigma certification online Black Belt training is 96 hours of instruction with additional coursework required in the form of, for example, quizzes, threaded discussions, and project work. The average time to complete the training is 20 weeks for eBlackBelt. There is an expectation of 1-2 hours each working day, but the program is completely self-paced, so you can go as fast or as slow as you want.

Q: What is included in the training?
With this training you will receive:
- 12 months of access to the web-based training program (curriculum and Master Black Belt support)
- Online presentation of lectures with full instructor audio and selective use of video
- Threaded discussions among students as well as students and instructor
- Document sharing among students for interactive project reporting
- Virtual office hours when Master Black Belt instructors are available for real-time support
- Student journals which house daily notes about lectures, class progress, my progress tool, questions and problems; instructors also provide daily feedback and guidance
- Drexel Six Sigma certification and awarding of Continuing Education Unit (CEU)

Q: What prerequisites are required for eBB and eGB?
While there are no prerequisites for enrollment into the eGB and eBB programs, any exposure/background in statistics will help, but is not necessary. You should also possess the ability to manage your time and be self-motivated.

Q: What is required for certification?
- Completion of all lectures, quizzes, and threaded discussions
- Cumulative average of 75% or better on the 4 exams (D-M-A-I-C)
- Submission of a final project report (done concurrently with training)

Q: How long are the exams?
Students are provided 4 hours to complete each exam. Green Belts typically require 1 hour per exam and Black Belts require 2 hours per exam.

Q: When can I start the training?
The program is self-paced and you can start at any time. The material is delivered asynchronously, so there are no specific times that participants are required to be online.

Q: Do I need Minitab to take the exams?
Yes. Minitab applications are used in all areas of the training, including exams and project work.

Q: Do you require/provide a project for certification?
Each participant is required to complete an actual Six Sigma project for certification. The Master Black Belt/Instructor may help with the project definition and scoping elements, but does not provide a project for you.

Q: How do I find a project if I’m not currently working?
Participants can work on projects in a variety of different processes including: the optimization of coupons at a grocery store, optimizing the drive to school, etc.

Q: Can I retake a certification exam if I fail one?
Yes. Your Master Black Belt will address what parts of the exam you had difficulties with and allow you to retake the exam to improve your score. This is capped at 3 tries before we will require another tuition fee. Written request is required to take the test again within one year of the time of the initial start of the course.

Q: What else is required to complete the training?
Minitab statistical analysis software is used in both the eGreen Belt and eBlack Belt programs and is required for the courses.

Q: What are the software/Hardware Requirements?
- Drexel University highly recommends Broadband, Cable, ISDN, or a high speed internet connection. Supported browsers are Internet Explorer or Netscape. Once you are in WebCT you can check the browser.
- Chat options will not work if you are behind most corporate or personal firewall. These are Java-based features and will not work behind firewall, in most cases.

Q: Can I start with eGB and then move to the eBB program?
YES, the eGB curriculum is a subset of the eBB program and we offer the ability to “upgrade” to eBB by completing and paying the difference in the 2 program prices. For example, the Green Belt program is $2200 and the Black Belt is $5500. If you are upgrading to the Black Belt you will need to pay $3300 (the difference between Green and Black Belt).

Q: What is the process for registering?
Potential students will need to complete a registration form. This form can be found at www.drexel.edu/Goodwin/sixsigma/regform . After the form is completed, it can be mailed or faxed back to the University. Payment should be included with the registration form. We accept Visa, Master Card, checks, and cash.

Q: What happens after I register?
After you register, Drexel University will process all necessary paperwork and will send a letter, via email, which will provide you with detailed instructions on how to access the training program, how to report or get assistance with problems, and other contact information.

Q: How much does each program cost?
- Six Sigma eGreenBelt is $2200.
- Six Sigma eBlackBelt is $5500.
- Minitab software is not included.

Q: How does the payment work?
Payment in full is required at the time of registration. You will be granted access to this online educational course after full payment has been processed. You will receive an emailed receipt when payment has been approved. You can request that a hard copy be mailed to you.

Q: What are your cancellation policies once I am enrolled in eGB or eBB?
You will not be entitled to any refund if you withdraw from the course at any time after you have been provided with your access code with which to access the WebCT class in question, provided such cancellation, withdrawal, or failure to complete the WebCT class is not caused by Drexel or BMG negligent or intentional acts of omission which Drexel/BMG fails to cure in a reasonable amount of time.

Q: Do you offer any discount to unemployed individuals or students?
There are no discounts associated with this online course.
