Who should choose AET?

If you are the type of person who enjoys taking things apart and putting them back together or constantly wonders "how things work" in industry and technology, the AET program might be a perfect fit for your unique set of interests and skills.

Students who display the following traits will learn to utilize these qualities in a rewarding work environment:

  • Creativity
  • Scientific aptitude
  • A love for hands-on teamwork
  • The desire to see their work come to fruition by solving problems

Students who have previously earned an associate of applied science (A.A.S.) degree in the following areas (or related fields) from accredited community colleges can usually complete their B.S. in AET in approximately two years:

  • Automated manufacturing
  • Robotics
  • Machine tool technology
  • Mechanical technology
  • Electronics technology

Those who plan to pursue graduate studies, rather than immediately entering the workforce, will be prepared to enter graduate programs in a variety of fields including business and engineering.
