| Profile: |
Amy Giddings comes to Drexel University after teaching sport management courses at a number of area colleges and universities.
Amy is completing her Ph.D. at Temple University in the area of Sport Psychology with a focus on leadership studies. She previously completed her master’s degree at Temple University in Sport and Recreation Administration.
Amy has a variety of industry experiences including many years as the Recreation Coordinator at Tyler School of Art, more than 10 years of coaching experience, including her current position as the Novice Coach for Conestoga High School’s rowing team. Her introduction to the sport management industry was a position at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center for the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games.
She and her husband also manage a nonprofit organization, PA Rowing Camps, which offers learn-to-row classes for corporate groups, adults, youth, and at-risk populations. In addition to her coaching experience in rowing, Ms. Giddings was a competitive rower for 11 years. She rowed for the University of Dayton (undergraduate), Temple University (graduate), and Undine Barge Club on Boathouse Row. As a member of Undine’s racing team, she amassed numerous national championships and won an international invitational in Taiwan as well. |
