Renowned Food Scientist to Speak at Academic Bistro, May 22, 2008

Goodwin College’s Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, Culinary Science, and Food Science programs will host an accomplished food scientist at the Academic Bistro on May 22.  Dr. Marv Rudolph, Director of Food Science for MooBella, LLC, will give a presentation titled “From Pop Rocks to MooBella:  Bringing New Food Products to the Market.”

Dr. Rudolph, who is renowned as an innovator behind many well-known brand name products for some of the world’s leading food companies, received his B.S. and Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from Drexel University. 

In his 35 years as a food scientist, Rudolph has been associated with some of the country’s leading corporations, including Pepsico, Columbo, and Kellogg’s and is an innovator behind products including Slim Fast® meal replacement beverages and nutrition bars, Ragú® pasta sauces, Adolph’s® meat tenderizers and marinades, and the popular carbonated candy, Pop Rocks®. At MooBella, he has been instrumental in the distribution of a new vending machine that produces a scoop of fresh ice cream in 45 seconds with a choice of 12 flavors and three toppings.

The presentation will start at 5 p.m. at the Bistro, which is located on the sixth floor of the Academic Building at 33rd and Arch streets. A reception will follow. All members of the Drexel community are invited to attend.
