I am pleased to welcome you to the website of the Offices of the General Counsel and Offices of Risk Management for both Drexel University and the Drexel University College of Medicine.  Serving the needs of our clients, Drexel University and the Drexel University College of Medicine, the mission of the Offices of the General Counsel is to provide sound legal advice to meet their specialized and diverse needs so that informed decisions can be made in the best interests of each University.

Unlike any other unit at the University, our offices must consider not only the objectives of the department to which we are providing legal advice, but the objectives of every other department, college and school that might be affected, as well as the overall objectives of the University as a whole. We provide advice and support to the leadership of Drexel University and its College of Medicine, and to their respective Trustees, on a daily basis.  To ensure that our counsel is well-informed, our staff are actively engaged in the life of our clients at all levels.  In all matters, the Offices of the General Counsel strive to provide good sound advice, supporting the entrepreneurial initiatives of the administration and faculty while reducing the potential for unwelcome risks and expense, and doing so quickly, efficiently, and effectively.
