I am pleased to welcome you to the website of the Office of the General Counsel (OGC).
Our mission is to provide specialized legal advice to meet the diverse needs of a research institution so that informed decisions can be made in the best interests of the University.
Unlike any other unit at the University, our offices must consider not only the objectives of the department to which we are providing legal advice, but the objectives of every other department, college and school that might be affected, as well as the overall objectives of the University as a whole. We provide advice and support to the leadership of Drexel University and its College of Medicine, and to their respective Trustees, on a daily basis.
To ensure that we provide well-informed advice, our staff are actively engaged in the life of our clients at all levels. In all matters, the Offices of the General Counsel strive to provide good sound advice, supporting the entrepreneurial initiatives of the administration and faculty while reducing the potential for unwelcome risks and expense, and doing so quickly, efficiently, and effectively.
Our goal is to provide excellent service and practical advice to our faculty, management, trustees and staff who work on a daily basis for the benefit of our students and our local and global communities through all of the programs and services offered at Drexel.
If the Office of the General Counsel can be of service, please contact one of our attorneys and we will be happy to assist you or direct your inquiry to the appropriate attorney or other appropriate individual or department.
