Joel Gerstman

Although I value all of my work experiences in my chosen field of accounting and finance, at some point I felt the simple urge to go out and challenge myself while making a positive difference in the world. From that premise, joining the Peace Corps was probably the best decision I could have made. Before arriving in Thailand for my assignment, I had barely left the Philadelphia area in my entire life, except for short vacations. In retrospect, my decision to join the Peace Corps altered the course of my life and directly led to some other big dreams being fulfilled. I am forever grateful for making the decision to volunteer two years of my life in this program.
