Gilman Scholar to Taiwan 2010

International Area Studies Major, concentration in Business and Economics BA, 2012

I am an International Area Studies major with a concentration in Business and Economics. My minor is Mandarin Chinese, which is why I am studying abroad in Taiwan at Cheng Yuan Christian University this fall. I am a transfer student, and this year I will be a junior at Drexel. I am also a member of Pennoni Honors College.

The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship is awarded to students with financial need wishing to study abroad. In order to apply to the Gilman Scholarship, you will need to complete an online application, which includes two essays. One essay describes what your study abroad program is like while the other one describes what you would do for a Follow-On Project. If you are awarded the scholarship, you will need to perform a Follow-On Project, which promotes both the Gilman Scholarship and studying abroad. It is best to get started on the application process early because you need to talk to both your financial aid advisor and your study abroad advisor.
