The Goldwater Scholarship is for highly ambitious and talented STEM students, those who are committed to and show exceptional promised for careers in mathematics, the sciences, or engineering. Goldwater Scholars typically intend to get a PhD in their field, have undergraduate research experience, and often have publications in the works.

The GRFP is a generous and prestigious award that supports research-oriented students in STEM and Social Science fields during their first three years of graduate school, with a $30,000 stipend plus a Cost of Education Allowance.

They will be participating in summer research internships in Germany as part of the DAAD RISE Program. All three will be assisting German PhD students with their dissertation research.

Phillip Tomezsko, a Biomedical Engineering undergraduate, is a finalist for the prestigious Truman Scholarship. The Truman Scholarship is a $30,000 merit-based grant awarded to undergraduate students with extensive records of public and community service. Phillip has been active in community service since his first year at Drexel.
