Welcome to the LGBT Resources page. This page provides regional and national resources for lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgendered faculty members or employees. Section I includes listings of regional and national websites. Section II includes some books.

Faculty members who are active in supporting LGBT issues are available to welcome and inform potential Drexel faculty, new faculty, and current faculty about the resources available at Drexel and in the Philadelphia community.  For further information, please contact the Office of Faculty Development and Equity.

Diversity and Inclusion is a website offering a collection of articles and resources on diversity in the workplace and includes LGBT issues.

Echelon Magazine - Designed specifically for the LGBT business community.

Equality Forum (www.equalityforum.com) – a national and international LGBT civil rights organization with an educational focus and broad mission which hosts one of the largest LGBT civil-rights gatherings in the world.

Family Pride Coalition (http://familypride.org) - Family Pride is the national non-profit organization committed to securing equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender parents and their families.

Federal Globe – Website designed for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender Employees of the Federal Government.

The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) is dedicated to promoting and ensuring fair, accurate and inclusive representation of people and events in the media as a means of eliminating homophobia and discrimination based on gender identity and sexual orientation.

Gay Financial Network provides information specifically for the LGBT community on personal finance and investing, insurance, real estate, and politics.

Gay and Lesbian Medical Association contains a useful healthcare equality index.

Gophila.com/gay – Part of the official Philadelphia visitors' site with regional activities specifically of interest to the LGBT community.

Human Rights Campaign Foundation maintains this website as a national source of information on workplace policies and laws surrounding sexual orientation and gender identity.

Idealist.org - Search on "gay, lesbian and bisexual issues" for a list of over 500 LGBT-related non-profit organizations in the U.S.

Immigration Equality - National grass roots organization that works to end discrimination in U.S. immigration law against lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and HIV-positive people, and to help obtain asylum for those persecuted in their home country based on their sexual orientation, transgender identity or HIV-status.

Lambda Legal Defense Education Fund - Lambda Legal's Help desk staff respond directly to those seeking legal information assistance with discrimination related to sexual orientation, gender identity and HIV status.

National Center for Transgender Equality (http://www.nctequality.org/) is dedicated to advancing the equality of transgender people through advocacy, collaboration and empowerment.

National Gay and Lesbian Task Force – Works for the grassroots political power of the LGBT community.

Out and Equal is a national organization devoted to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community in the workplace.

Out for Work hosts an annual non-industry career conference for LGBT and Ally undergraduate students.

Philadelphia Gay Calendar (www.PhillyGayCalendar.com ) Lists events and activities throughout the Philadelphia region.

Philadelphia Weekly (www.philadelphiaweekly.com) – Regional newspaper listing a broad range of political and social events, some of which specifically appeal to the LGBT community.

PlanetOut.com has a money and careers section with news and resources including ways to find gay-friendly organizations.

Transgender Law Center - The Transgender Law Center works with community members and allies to make California a state in which transgendered people  can fully and freely express their gender identities. On the site, you'll find one of the nation's most comprehensive collections of resources on transgender law, information about their innovative projects, and other materials.

Transgender Law and Policy Institute - The Transgender Law and Policy Institute is a non-profit organization dedicated to engaging in effective advocacy for transgender people in our society.

Workplace Diversity is the central job search web site for corporate recruiters who want to reach experienced diversity talent.
