Grounds Maintenance

Drexel grounds

The Grounds Department at Drexel is responsible for maintaining all campus sidewalks, lawns, stairways, building entrances, and athletic fields including the daily removal of trash, debris, and snow; graffiti removal; and providing support to University City Campus events.

Landscape maintenance includes planting and caring for trees, shrubs, and flowerbeds; renovating lawns; and the design and installation of new gardens and planting areas. All leaves, lawn clippings, and tree materials are composted and recycled back into the campus and athletic fields.

Vidas Athletic Complex Maintenance

A safe, playable surface for all of Drexel’s athletic teams is the goal of the athletic complex grounds crew. This is accomplished through the preservation practices of aerating, mowing, and supplying adequate irrigation, seeding, dethatching, topdressing and daily grooming of fields.
