Environmental Health & Safety
Environmental Health & Safety is responsible for the development and implementation of policies and procedures designed to create a safe workplace that is conducive to learning and research. Our goal is to develop compliance programs that meet or exceed regulatory standards and promotes standardized practices for all campuses that reduce the overall risk of injury to human health or the environment.
Environmental Health & Safety assists research, teaching and clinical departments in meeting their obligation to comply with Federal, State and Local regulatory authorities. The department routinely inspects all University areas including Research Laboratories and Clinical Departments in an effort to recognize and correct potentially hazards situations as they arise. This proactive approach is necessary to limit the liability of the institution and to reduce the risk of injury and/or illness of employees, students and visitors.
