Harriet Levin Millan, associate teaching professor of English and director of the Certificate Program in Writing and Publishing, is guest editor of the latest issue of Writing & Pedagogy, a special topic issue on creativity and writing pedagogy. The issue, which breaks new ground in creativity studies, represents a number of creative writers and theorists including Drexel faculty members Dr. Rebecca Ingalls, assistant professor of English and director of the First-Year Writing Program, and Dr. Fredricka K. Reisman, professor and director of the Drexel Torrance Center for Creativity and Innovation.
Writing & Pedagogy is an international journal focused on the teaching and practice of writing. Published twice a year, the journal bridges all levels of education, from K-12 through the doctoral level.
Levin Millan received her M.F.A. in creative writing from the University of Iowa Writers Workshop, and her B.A. in English from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and Temple University. Author of two books of prize-winning poetry, she first conceived the idea of the special topic issue on creativity when she brought Harvard University neurologist Alice Flaherty to Drexel for a talk on writer’s block.
