Biography
Having been fascinated my entire life by other languages, as well as my native English, and because of specific experiences overseas, I was led to pursue an undergraduate degree in English Advanced Linguistics, as well as English as a Second Language (ESL, more currently and comprehensively referred to as Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages-TESOL). I completed these in 2003 and began my professional career as a high school Spanish teacher, Spanish having been my minor and second language.
In 2007, I began studies in the English-TESL (Teaching English as a Second Language) Master's program at West Chester University. Here, my interests broadened considerably to encompass a variety of aspects regarding language instruction to non-native English speakers. Further studies in this area will most likely revolve around Second (Additional) Language Acquisition theory and how it applies practically in the classroom. I would also like to engage in "action" research with my students in the classroom.
