Common Registration Errors
There are a number of errors that can occur while students are registering. Students can resolve most errors themselves by recognizing the error and simply correcting the information.
- Closed Section: a section is full to maximum seating capacity
- Reserve Closed: seats in the class are reserved for students in a specific Major or College, the rest of the seats in the class are full
- Permission Required: student needs department approval to register for the course
- College Restriction: course is strictly for students in the College
- Major Restriction: course is strictly for students in that Major
- Class Restriction: course is strictly for students classified as Freshmen, Sophomores, etc. as
indicated
- Level Restriction: strictly for students with either undergraduate or graduate status
- Campus Restriction: course is only for Drexel@BCC (Burlington County Community College)
program (see “Section types” below for more information)
- Time Conflict: indicates that there is another class that the student is either registered for or is
trying to register for that is being offered at the same time as another class
- Pre-requisite/Test Score Error: means that the student didn’t take the necessary courses or
tests needed to enroll in the course
- Co-requisite Errors: the student is not registered for a course that is required for another course
(most common co-requisite is the Exam Period, EXAM 080, 081 or 082)
- Link Error: student has not registered for all of the parts of the course (a lecture, lab or
recitation). These course components must be registered for simultaneously
- Max Hours Exceeded: student has registered for more courses than the allotted 20 credits for
undergraduates
Specific Sections Information:
- 300 Level Sections: some 300-level ENGL 101-103 sections are designated as Non-Native
Speakers Only sections. Please make you’re registered for the correct section
- 600 Level Sections: these courses are offered at Burlington County Community College through
the Drexel@BCC program. Full-time University City Drexel students are prohibited from taking
these sections
- 900 Level Sections: online-only sections of courses restricted to the DrexelOnline program
