Dr. James Tangorra Has Been Appointed Assistant Dean of Engineering for Faculty Development

James TangorraMay 12, 2011 The College of Engineering is pleased to announce that Dr. James Tangorra, Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics, has been appointed Assistant Dean of Engineering for Faculty Development. In this position, Dr. Tangorra will assist the dean in cultivating and mentoring the junior faculty in the College. Dr. Tangorra succeeds Dr. Alisa Clyne who has moved to a new position in Undergraduate Affairs.

In his professional life, Dr. Tangorra heads the Laboratory for Biological Systems Analysis. The goals of this laboratory are: development of biorobotic models; evaluation of the functional performance of physiological systems in their natural state; design of systems that are derived from nature, such as electro-active polymers.
