Media Coverage of Chris Ferguson and NASA's Final Shuttle Launch

Drexel alumnus and astronaut Christopher Ferguson (’84) is commander of NASA’s final space shuttle, Atlantis. The mission has received extensive media coverage. Ferguson and Drexel students in attendance at the College of Engineering’s space shuttle launch viewing party, were featured on July 8, 2011 in stories printed and broadcasted by several media outlets covering the lift-off of Atlantis. KYW-Newsradio (1060-AM) ran a pre-recorded interview with Ferguson as part of its shuttle launch story on July 9, 2011.

Several publications including the Daily News and Yahoo News ran an Associated Press picture of students at the College’s launch viewing party. WCAU-TV (NBC-10), KYW-TV (CBS-3) WXTF-TV (FOX-29) and WVPI-TV (6-abc) all featured footage from the launch viewing event at Drexel. NBC affiliates in Salt Lake City, Utah and Jefferson City, Mo. also used the footage in their broadcasts.
