Drexel Ranks as One of the Most Innovative Schools

February 1, 2010 For the second year in a row, Drexel University has made the “up-and-coming” short list of national universities that have achieved “the most promising and innovative changes in academics, faculty, students, campus, or facilities,” according to U.S. News & World Report's 2010 edition of “America's Best Colleges.” Drexel placed fourth out of 19 universities in the country and also climbed from number 89 to 88 in “America's Best National Universities.”

“We couldn’t be more proud of this accomplishment. Our climb to the top is attributed to the hard work and dedication of our students, faculty and staff. Congratulations to Drexel and let’s continue to build on our successes,” says Dr. Selçuk Güçeri, dean of Drexel University’s College of Engineering.

Drexel is one of only two Philadelphia-based national universities ranked in the nation's top 100. Drexel established a 19 rank improvement last year. In addition, Drexel was ranked No. 11 by Security Magazine for safety among the nation’s colleges and universities. The U.S. News rankings group schools based on categories created by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.
