Gogotsi Elected to the Academy of Europe

Yury Gogotsi

Yury Gogotsi, Distinguished University and Charles T. and Ruth M. Bach Professor in the department of materials science and engineering, has been elected to the Academy of Europe (Academia Europaea).

Established in 1988, the Academy seeks “the advancement and propagation of excellence in scholarship in the humanities, law, the economic, social, and political sciences, mathematics, medicine, and all branches of natural and technological sciences anywhere in the world for the public benefit and for the advancement of the education of the public of all ages in the aforesaid subjects in Europe.” (Academia Europaea website) Membership in the Academy is offered by invitation only following a rigorous peer review process by members from the relevant sector to verify scientific and scholarly excellence.
