Biography

Dr. Kathleen Short Professor Short received her Bachelor of Social Work from Concord University, and her MS in Building/Construction Science and Management and her PhD in Environmental Design and Planning, Construction both from Virginia Tech, College of Architecture, Building Construction. Prior to joining Drexel, she served as Project Director, Construction Academy and Hospitality Academy at the University of the District of Columbia, among other employment positions. In 2017, she joined Drexel Engineering as Assistant Teaching Professor. She serves as a coach for the Construction Competition team and as advisor for the Construction Honor Society. She is also the faculty advisor for two fraternities and is assisting students in the formation of Drexel’s first organization for Women in Construction. Dr. Short is a recipient of the 2022 Associated School of Construction Region One Teaching Award.
