All first-time freshman applicants with complete admission applications on file by January 15 will be automatically reviewed for the academic-achievement A.J. Drexel Scholarship in amounts up to $20,000.

Early Action for Westphal College of Media Arts & Design
Applicants with exceptional academic qualifications who have decided Westphal College is their top choice can apply early and receive an admission decision sooner in the admission process. A complete application is due December 1. Early Action applicants will receive a decision around January 8. If you are admitted, you have until May 1 to fully explore Drexel and confirm your intention to enroll. If you do not receive admission, your application will be deferred to the regular decision process. This is a nonbinding Early Action program. The regular admission deadline for Westphal programs is February 1. Regular decision applicants will receive a decision 6–8 weeks after their application is complete.

Transfer Admission and Financial Aid Deadlines
The application deadlines for transfer applicants vary depending on the term in which you wish to enroll.
Note: College of Information Science and Technology, Westphal College of Media Arts & Design, and Nursing Co-op programs only admit transfer students in the fall. Students cannot transfer into Music Industry, full-time Architecture program, or programs for Still-Deciding Students®. Nursing ACE applications received after the deadline will be reviewed on a continuous basis.

International Application Checklist
Drexel takes into consideration a number of criteria when determining admission, including your high school performance, letters of recommendation, and essay.

Undergraduate Admission Application
Complete an application for Undergraduate Admission. We prefer you apply online to Drexel. You may submit either:

You may only submit one application. To expedite the application process please write your full name (no nicknames, please) on all items submitted. Be sure to indicate the appropriate undergraduate major and academic plan (review the undergraduate majors list for this information). - Application Fee, $50 (waived if you apply on campus or online)
- Essay
All applicants must submit a 1–2 page essay on why you are interested in your choice of major. You may also write an essay on any subject you choose.
Westphal College of Media Arts & Design applicants should
relate their essay topic to their interest in their selected major.
If you are applying to an accelerated degree in Westphal College,
your essay topic should relate to your selected major and why you are
a good candidate for the program.
Accelerated degree applicants should refer to the Accelerated Degree Instructions.
Note: Nursing ACE, RN-BSN Degree Completion, and Radiologic Technology applicants are not required to submit an essay.
- Transcripts
All international applicants are required to submit an official academic record (with notarized English translation) from every secondary or post-secondary school attended. A transcript is official only when it is sent directly from an institution to Undergraduate Admissions, or when it is officially signed, stamped in color, and sealed. You may print the transcript request form [PDF] and use it to request official transcripts from your school counselor and/or registrar.
All Nursing ACE, RN-BSN Degree Completion, and Radiologic Technology
applicants who have coursework from an institution outside of the United States — except study abroad — must have their transcripts evaluated by one of three agencies:
World Education Services (WES)
International Consultants of Delaware
Educational Credential Evaluators
Transfer Students: Transfer
applicants must submit transcripts from all postsecondary institutions
attended. Syllabus/course descriptions must accompany
transcripts for evaluation of transfer credits.
If you have completed fewer than 24 credits at the time of application, you must also submit an official copy of your secondary school transcript.
Note: Radiologic Technology applicants are required to submit a high school transcript regardless of the number of completed college credits.

- Coursework in Progress
You are required to submit a list of the courses you are currently taking.
- Activities
Submit a list of your extracurricular activities, employment, leadership roles, and community service. A résumé is also acceptable.
- Letters of Recommendation
Two letters of recommendation are required. At least one form must be completed by a high school counselor. Recommendations on official letterhead will also be accepted. Print the recommendation forms [PDF].
Note:Nursing ACE and RN-BSN Degree Completion applicants are not required to submit recommendations.
Transfer Students: At least one recommendation must be completed by a faculty member or advisor (or by an employer if the applicant has been out of college for several years). |
- Standardized Test Scores
All applicants (except as indicated below) may take the SAT or the TOEFL if your native language is not English. International applicants with both SAT and TOEFL scores are considered more competitive candidates. Results must be forwarded to Undergraduate Admissions. All students should use the following codes to send score reports to Drexel: SAT 2194 or ACT 3556.
All Nursing ACE, BSN Co-op, and RN-BSN Degree Completion applicants must
complete the TOEFL iBT if you were born outside of the United States, regardless
of citizenship, native language, or location of degree-granting institutions.
If you took the TOEFL prior to the implementation of the TOEFL iBT, you will
be required to take the TSE. A TOEFL examination waiver may be granted if you
have eight years of consecutive education (preferably high school and postsecondary)
in the United States and if you have a passing score on the TSE examination
or TSE equivalent examination offered at the Drexel University English Language
Center. You must provide necessary documentation in the form of official transcripts
and test scores.
Transfer Students: If you have completed 24 or more college credits you are not required to submit standardized test scores. Otherwise, you must take either the SAT or ACT and request that the results be forwarded to Undergraduate Admissions. All students should use the following codes to send score reports to Drexel: SAT 2194 or ACT 3556.

- Portfolio (Fashion Design, Photography, Graphic Design, and Music Industry applicants only)
You are required to submit a CD or DVD of your creative work with a maximum of 12 images of drawings, paintings, photographs, or other visual materials or a Web site, animation, computer game, or other media. Briefly explain the context within which you created the work.
All work submitted becomes part of the application and will not be returned.
- Alumni-Trustee Endorsement Grant Program (Optional)
A $250 grant is awarded annually to enrolling undergraduates
who have been recommended by a Drexel alumnus/a or trustee. Print
the Alumni-Trustee
Endorsement Grant form [PDF], complete the top portion of this form,
and give it to the person providing your endorsement. The form must
be postmarked by March 1.
Note: Nursing ACE, RN-BSN Degree Completion, and Radiologic Technology applicants are not eligible for Alumni-Trustee Endorsement Grant.
- Proof of Financial Responsibility
Proof of financial responsibility for students who are not United States
citizens or permanent residents is required to obtain a student visa. All documents must be notarized and written in English. You must complete and submit
the financial certification form [PDF] and at least one of the
following documents:
• A current official bank letter in either your name or your sponsor's name. The signature of the bank official must attest to the amount of funds available in the account.
• A non-Drexel scholarship award letter in your name. Enclose a signed letter or affidavit of support giving full details regarding the promise of support, and the specific amount of money in U.S. dollars.
Transfer Students: International
Transfer applicants must submit the International
Student Transfer Form [PDF]. Note: Nursing ACE, Radiologic Technology,
and RN-BSN Degree Completion program applicants are not required
to submit this form. |
