Drexel is located in University City which is only minutes away from center city.

Patty van Kleef had lived in seven countries and dozens of cities before coming to the United States to attend Drexel. So how does the City of Brotherly Love stack up against them? "I wouldn't want to be anywhere else," she says confidently, "this city is amazing."

Born in Rio de Janeiro, Patty has spent the last three years exploring Philadelphia's museums, parks, and shops. But Patty saves her fondest praise for one aspect of life in Philadelphia: the people.

"People – strangers on the street – will talk to you here. People hold doors for you if they see you're carrying a lot of bags. It's such a friendly city."

Patty started to get acquainted with the city during a trip to Drexel when she was still in high school. During her visit she met with Glen Muschio, Director of Drexel's Digital Media program, who gave her a tour of the University and answered her questions about the program.

"I chose Digital Media because it combines technology with art and creativity," explains Patty. "I get to work on projects that really interest me, like 3-D modeling and animation. It's also a very versatile degree. When I graduate, I can create Web sites, work on ad campaigns, or in the film and gaming industries."

Patty's experiences at Drexel and in Philadelphia have been so positive that she's encouraging her younger sister to apply to Drexel next year. "She just needs to visit," says Patty. "My trip to Philadelphia influenced my decision so much. By the end of it, I knew I wanted to come to Drexel."
