September 2008 Update
U.S. News Names Drexel Among Best "Up-and-Coming" Universities
U.S. News & World Report recently named Drexel University sixth among the top "up-and-coming" national universities. Drexel, one of only 20 universities to receive the distinction, was recognized for "promising and innovative changes." The publication also ranked Drexel 89th among "Best National Universities," a leap of 19 places from previous years.

Drexel Researchers Make Green Energy Breakthrough
The National Science Foundation recently recognized Drexel researchers for their work with supercapacitors, which has the potential to impact the way we use energy. Congratulations to John Chimiola (PhD student – NSF Graduate Fellow) and Dr. Yury Gogotsi on this exciting accomplishment.
New Chemical Engineering Advisor
Associate Professor Cameron Abrams, who joined the department in 2002, is the new graduate advisor for the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering. Professor Abrams received his PhD from the University of California, Berkeley and his research areas include multiscale molecular simulations, polymer thermodynamics, and molecular and cellular biophysics.

June 2008 Update
Application Deadline Extended for Biostatistics
If you're interested in studying Biostatistics, there is still time to apply to Drexel's master's program for fall 2008. The application deadline has been extended to June 30. To apply, submit all of the materials listed in the School of Public Health application instructions.
May 2008 Update
Drexel Launches New Center in Sacramento
On May 21, 2008 the Drexel University Board of Trustees approved the opening of the Center for Graduate Studies in Sacramento, California. The new center offers the opportunity to complete graduate coursework with a combination of classroom and online courses. Drexel Goes Green
The Committee for Sustainability will host presentations on the University's sustainable practices and policies throughout May. Visit the Drexel Green website to learn more about upcoming events and green initiatives at Drexel.
File Your FAFSA
If you missed the May 1 FAFSA deadline but would like to be considered for financial aid for the 2008–2009 academic year, submit the form as soon as possible. The FAFSA will still be accepted on a rolling basis, although you may no longer be eligible for some types of aid. To fill out the FAFSA online, please visit www.fafsa.ed.gov. Drexel's school code is 003256.
Higher Education Program Receives Best Practices Award

Doctor of Physical Therapy Class Filled for Fall 2008
The Entry-Level Doctor of Physical Therapy class beginning in fall 2008 is full and no longer accepting applications.
Program Change: Advanced Physician Assistant Studies

March 2008 Update
Application Deadline for Family Therapy Programs Extended
If you're interested in studying Family Therapy, there is still time to apply to Drexel's master's and post-master's programs for fall 2008. The application deadline has been extended to April 1, and qualified candidates will be interviewed in mid-to-late April. To learn more about these programs, visit the Couple and Family Therapy website.
Interior Design and Mechanical Engineering Programs Receive Honors
Two of Drexel's graduate programs have recently received high rankings:
- DesignIntelligence Magazine ranked Drexel's graduate Interior Design program as the fifth best in the eastern region of the United States
- In their 2007 Academic Analytics ratings, The Chronicle of Higher Education rated Drexel's Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics PhD fourth best out of 375 programs in the country
The application deadline for Interior Design is April 1, and the deadline for Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics is September 1. And remember: if you apply online, we'll waive the application fee.
