Admission Application Checklist

College of Information Science and Technology

  1. Graduate Admissions Application: We prefer that you submit your application online. Alternatively, you may submit the paper application.

  2. Application Fee, $50 (waived for students who apply online or submit the application during a campus visit).

  3. Essay: Applicants are required to submit an essay explaining why you are interested in pursuing graduate study. Refer to the Program Requirements and Deadlines for your program's specific essay topics and requirements, if applicable, before writing the essay.

  4. Two Letters of Recommendation: Recommendation letters must include the address, phone number, and signature of the recommender. The recommendation envelope must be submitted unopened to the College of Information Science and Technology. Certificate programs do not require letters of recommendation.

  5. Standardized Test Scores: (GRE) Official copies of test results must be sent to Drexel directly from the Educational Testing Service (ETS). Drexel's test code is 2194. Drexel does not use department codes.

  6. TOEFL: (international students only) Applicants who have not received a degree in the United States are required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). An official score report must be sent directly from the Educational Testing Service (ETS). Drexel's test code is 2194.

  7. I-20 Application and Supporting Financial Documents: (international students only) Please print and complete the I-20 Application Form (PDF) and submit it with your supplemental materials.

  8. Résumé: Required for all programs.

  9. Transcripts: Official transcripts must be sent directly to Drexel from all the colleges/universities that you have attended. Transcripts must be submitted in a sealed envelope with the college/university seal over the flap.

    International Student Transcripts: International applicants are responsible for supplying all documentation required, paying all necessary fees, and having their transcripts evaluated by the following approved agency:

  10. Credit for Work Experience: Prospective MS and MSIS students must complete the Credit for Work Experience form. This form must be completed by all MS and MSIS applicants, regardless of whether or not the student is requesting credit for work experience.

    Nonmatriculated Students: The College of Information Science and Technology does not accept students on a nonmatriculated basis. If you already hold a Master's in Information Systems or Library and Information Science from the college and want to take courses for professional development, please call the college for instructions.
