Admission Application Checklist
College of Engineering
- Graduate Admissions Application: We prefer
that you submit your application online. Alternatively, you may submit
the paper application.
Apply Online or download the Paper Application (PDF).
- Application Fee, $50 (waived for students
who apply online or submit the application during a campus visit).
- Essay: You are required to submit
an essay explaining why you are interested in pursuing graduate study.
Refer to the Program Requirements and Deadlines for
your program's specific essay topics and requirements, if applicable, before
writing the essay.
- Letters of Recommendation: Refer to the Program
Requirements and Deadlines for the number of recommendations that
you are required to submit for your program. Recommendation letters
must
include the address, phone number, and signature of the recommender.
The recommendation envelope must be submitted unopened to the Office
of Graduate Admissions.
- Standardized Test Scores: (GRE, GMAT, MAT, etc.) The GRE is required
for students applying for full-time status (9 credits per quarter). Official
copies of test results must be sent to Drexel. Refer to the Program
Requirements and Deadlines to determine which tests you are required
to take. Drexel's test code is 2194. Drexel does not use department codes.
- TOEFL: (international students only) Applicants
who have not received a degree in the United States are required to take
the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). An official score report
must be sent directly from the Educational Testing Service (ETS). Drexel's
test code is 2194.
- Résumé: Required for all
programs.
- I-20 Application and Supporting Financial Documents: (international
students only) Please refer to the I-20
Application Form (PDF) for details.
- Transcripts: Official transcripts must
be sent directly to Drexel from all the colleges/universities that you
have attended. Transcripts must be submitted in a sealed envelope with
the college/university seal over the flap.
International Student Transcripts: Please refer to the documentation requirements for the country in which the university or college you attended, or are currently attending, is located. Contact the Office of Graduate Admissions to obtain specific documentation requirements for those countries not listed below.
If your transcripts are selected for a course-by-course evaluation by an external agency, you will be responsible for supplying all necessary documentation and paying all necessary fees to have your transcripts evaluated by the following approved agency:

If your school issues only one transcript for life, you are required to have a course-by-course evaluation completed by this approved agency. To learn more about WES policies and procedures, please visit their website at www.wes.org.
Nonmatriculated Students: Applicants must provide a completed application, all transcripts (copies are accepted), and a 500-word essay. Applicants must meet all general admission requirements to be accepted. A 3.0 cumulative GPA in the last two years of undergraduate study is required. Note: Nonmatriculated status is considered only upon special approval.
