Courses for Drexel International Undergraduates & Graduates University Courses Academic Writing ESL Sections of Freshman Humanities Course description: These augmented courses provide two additional non-credit hours for students needing ESL support in the freshman humanities (HUM101, 102, 103) sequence. Speaking and Listening Course: HUM006 Section 1 Instructor: Mrs. Alexis Finger Course description: This four-hour, 0 credit course is available for undergraduate and graduate international students who need to develop skills and confidence in their oral communication skills. English Language Center Courses 10-week non-credit courses. $425 for Drexel students and staff. Students should register at the English Language Center by the end of the first week of the term. Advanced Grammatical Analysis Course description: This course focuses on improving international students' knowledge and use of advanced English grammatical structures. Advanced Academic Writing Course description: This course focuses on developing international graduate students' abilities to write academic papers, summaries, critiques, and essay exams. Advanced Academic Listening and Discussion Course description: This course focuses on improving international graduate students' abilities to listen to lectures, take effective notes and participate effectively in university classroom discussions. Strategies for Academic Reading Course description: This course focuses on improving international students' abilities to read textbooks and other academic articles effectively through the development of extensive and intensive reading strategies. Oral Presentations Course description: This course focuses on improving international students' abilities to present information effectively in formal presentations and speeches.
