Who are my ECE Academic Advisors? Where is the ECE Advising Office?

The ECE Undergraduate Advisors for ECE pre-juniors, juniors and seniors are Dr. Kurzweg – ECE Associate Dept. Head of Undergraduate Studies and Amy Ruymann – Associate Director - Advising. The ECE Advising Office is in the Bossone Building on the 3rd floor Room 313.

When is the ECE Advising Office open?

The ECE Advising Office is open from 9 am – 5pm every day. The ECE Student Advisor Walk in Hours are Mon – Fri 1:30 – 2:30 pm. You can schedule an appointment by calling 215.895.2241 or emailing advising@ece.drexel.edu.

What courses do I need for a BS CE degree?

The courses you need to take for your BS CE degree are listed on Drexel’s course catalog and the CE templates found on our ECE website. Follow the template that corresponds with the year that you started as a freshman at Drexel University. If you are a transfer student, please talk to your ECE advisor about which template to follow.

The courses you need to take for your BS EE degree are listed on Drexel’s course catalog and the EE templates found on our ECE website. There are templates for multiple areas of interest including Telecommunications/DSP; Electronics, Power and Systems & Control. Choose your area of interest. Follow the template that corresponds to the year that you started as a freshman at Drexel University. If you are a transfer student, please talk to your ECE Student Advisor about which template to follow.

What cumulative GPA do I need to graduate with a BS EE or BS CE degree?

Your cumulative GPA must be a 2.0 or higher.

What ECE GPA do I need to graduate with a BS EE or BS CE degree?

Your ECE GPA must be a 2.0 or higher. This ECE GPA is based on your grades in your ECE and ECEX courses.

How many credits do I need to graduate with a BS EE or BS CE degree?

You need 192 credits to receive your BS EE or BS CE degree.

What is an ECE elective?

An ECE elective is any ECEX 300 or 400 level course which includes ECEC, ECEE, ECEP, ECES.

Can ECE Electives be fulfilled by courses outside of the ECE Department?

Yes. You can take courses in other College of Engineering departments or the School of Biomedical Engineering, Science and Health Systems as long as the courses are 300-400 level courses. A maximum of 12 credits of ECE Electives can be taken outside of the ECE Department.

What minors are offered by the ECE Department?

Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Nuclear Engineering and Entertainment Engineering
