Drexel Business Services hosts a weekly Farmers Market on Tuesdays from 11am to 3pm on the University City Main Campus. Since its inception three years ago, the Farmers Market has provided the Drexel community with the opportunity to purchase fresh and locally grown food from King’s Dutch Country Goods, including a variety of fruits, vegetables, baked goods, canned and preserved fruits and vegetables, cheeses, and yogurt.
The Drexel University Farmers Market is part of a growing interest in the farm-to-fork style of eating. Drexel Business Services continuously develops and implements sustainable, environmentally friendly initiatives on all three University campuses structured around three guiding principles: Reduce. Reuse. Recycle. The partnership with our local vendor furthers this mission by bringing fresh, homemade goods to our Drexel University community.
The inclusion of a weekly Farmers Market on the Drexel University campus has positive environmental and social impacts that affect students, faculty, professional staff, and the members of our local community. Every Tuesday, the farmer is available for all patrons of the market to meet, get to know, and ask questions about the food they are buying — an essential component of a local, sustainable food system.
