Trouble Repaying Loans

Making the appropriate on-time payments for your loans is extremely important to your overall financial status. Defaulting on one or more student loans can have severe consequences for you.

If you are having difficulty making payments, the first thing you should do is contact your lender/servicer and discuss the situation. You may be eligible for temporary deferment or forbearance of loan repayment based upon special circumstances.

For Federal Direct Loans, you can visit the Student Loans website for information on deferments and forbearances. You should also contact your loan servicer directly for information.

For Federal Perkins and Campus Based loans, you should contact ECSI at 888-549-3274.

For Private Education Loans, you should contact your lender directly.
