The College of Medicine educates more medical students than any other private medical school in the nation, and also offers biomedical graduate studies and professional studies in the health sciences. The College of Medicine is the successor of two pioneering institutions, Woman's Medical College of Pennsylvania (the first medical school tor women in the world, established 1850) and Hahnemann Medical College (established 1848).
