Undergraduate Public Health Minors
A minor in public health provides undergraduate students at Drexel University with additional foundational knowledge, an enhanced skill set, broader exposure to complex public health issues, and possible new career paths.
These minors are open to all Drexel undergraduate students in good academic standing. Undergraduate students with at least 30 credits may declare a minor.
To receive a minor in public health, undergraduate students must successfully complete 24 credit hours, which includes core course and elective requirements.

Public Health
The Public Health minor provides students with a broad overview of the field's diversity. Reflecting the interdisciplinary approach of the Dornsife School of Public Health, students take courses originating from various public health core disciplines, which include epidemiology, community health and prevention, environmental and occupational health, and health management and policy.
Completion of the minor will provide students with an exposure to the breadth and depth of topics within public health, population-level challenges and solutions, as well as possible career options.
This minor will be a relevant course of study for students pursuing pre-med, pre-law, biology and business curricula as well as students interested in population-based applications of psychology, sociology and communications theory.

Environmental Public Health
The Environmental Public Health minor provides students with the framework for understanding the complexity of issues and challenges present in environmental health issues from a public health perspective.
Students will focus on a variety of topics, including injury prevention and control, environmental and occupational health, and global health issues.
Upon completion of the minor, students will have a stronger grasp on how current issues reside within an environmental public health viewpoint.
The Environmental Public Health minor is a relevant course of study for those pursuing environmental science, biology, global health, or pre-med curriculum.

Epidemiology
The Epidemiology minor provides undergraduates with foundational knowledge of epidemiology, which is the study and control of disease or injury patterns in human populations.
Students develop basic skills in epidemiology and biostatistics and then apply those skills to specific topic-based courses like Burden of Disease, Disease Outbreak Investigation and Public Health Biology.
This is a beneficial minor for students who are pursuing any of the pre-health tracks or other science-related majors.

Global Public Health
The Global Public Health minor is designed to provide students with a broad overview of the field's diversity, emphasizing a global perspective. Reflecting the interdisciplinary approach of Dornsife, students take courses originating from various public health core disciplines.

Health Data Analytics
The Health Data Analytics minor prepares students to handle complex data problems. Students learn to conduct statistical analysis and gain marketable skills in computing, data visualization, and scientific communication.
This minor is a good fit for Drexel students who are pursuing majors in public health, pre-med, biomedical engineering, biological sciences, health sciences, business analytics, environmental science, and data science, as well as other data-driven scientific fields.

Health and Social Justice
The Health and Social Justice minor is a collaborative minor between the Community Health and Prevention and Health Management and Policy departments within Dornsife.
Students examine how social justice and human rights are impacted by the social determinants of health and vice versa. Students also gain an understanding of biases and inequality within healthcare systems and how they ultimately impact the population.
A minor in Health and Social Justice will be a relevant course of study for students pursuing a public health, biology, medicine, sociology, psychology, criminal justice or political science curriculum.
