Drexel University Office of Disability Services

Financial Aid and Scholarships for Students with Disabilities

The Office of Disability Services (ODS) is responsible for facilitating auxiliary aids, academic adjustments, and services at Drexel University. When students need to enroll part-time due to a disability, the number of hours enrolled will have a direct impact on a student’s financial aid eligibility.  For additional information about financial aid eligibility, contact the Financial Aid Office at 215.895.2537 (University City Main Campus and Center City Hahnemann Campus students) or 215.991.8210 (Queen Lane Medical Campus students).

When students need to enroll as a part-time student due to a disability, Drexel University scholarships may be awarded, but may be applied on a pro-rated basis. The eligibility criteria used by the Financial Aid Office must be compliant with federal requirements for distributing financial aid monies.

There are a host of scholarships available through private foundations and agencies geared specifically for students with disabilities. As a courtesy to students with disabilities at Drexel University, scholarship information is available at: Scholarships for Students with Disabilities. ODS is pleased to provide letters of recommendation for scholarship applicants who are registered with the office. Students should provide an advance notice of at least two weeks for letters of recommendation to be provided by ODS.

Scholarships for Students with Disabilities

As a courtesy for students with disabilities enrolled at Drexel University, the Office of Disability Services (ODS) provides resources for scholarship opportunities offered through private foundations and other organizations. For students who are registered with ODS, upon request, letters of recommendation are provided for applications for scholarships. A minimum of 5 University days* needs to be provided to ODS staff members for the receipt of letters of recommendation, once the request is received by ODS.

If incoming students are recipients of a scholarship, the ODS encourages students to disclose this information to ODS.

* University days means days when the University is open for normal business hours.
