Faculty Information on Exam Administration

When students with disabilities are eligible for exam/quiz accommodations, there are a number of policies and procedures which are important for students and faculty to be advised of, including the exam administration itself and use of accommodations by students with disabilities, the Testing Accommodation Form, and instructions for the Testing Accommodation Form.

Syllabus Statement

In compliance with the Americans With Disabilities Act of 1990, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and Drexel University’s policies and procedures, the University is committed to the non-discrimination of students with disabilities.  Faculty and instructors are encouraged to include a statement in course syllabi advising students with disabilities how to request auxiliary aids, academic adjustments, and services. 

The statement should be the same format as other information provided on the syllabus, i.e. font size.  The following statement is recommended:

Student with disabilities requesting accommodations and services at Drexel University need to present a current accommodation verification letter (AVL) to faculty before accommodations can be made.  AVL’s are issued by the Office of Disability Services (ODS).  For additional information, contact ODS at www.drexel.edu/ods, 3201 Arch St., Street, Suite 210, Philadelphia, PA  19104, 215.895.1401 (V), or 215.895.2299 (TTY).
