C-Print
C-Print is a computer-aided-to-speech transcription that is designed for people who are deaf or hard of hearing. A C-Print Captionist (Service Provider) uses technology which results in a written transcription of the spoken word in a classroom/meeting. The Office of Disability Services (ODS) is responsible for securing Service Providers in a timely fashion. All requests for this service, if students are approved for the auxiliary aid, need to be made to ODS. For additional information regarding requesting auxiliary aids, accommodations, and services due to deafness or hearing loss, go to: Requesting Auxiliary Aids, Accommodations & Services.
Similar to other methods of auxiliary aids and services for people who are deaf or hard of hearing, C-Print can be viewed instantly in the classroom. Afterwards, the printed text is made available to the student and ODS. ODS conducts reviews of the printed text, using a system of random sampling. If students with disabilities use this as an approved auxiliary aid and have concerns related to its quality or the timeliness of receiving the printed text, ODS needs to be notified immediately.
When C-Print is an eligible accommodation, students and employees who are deaf or hard of hearing requesting C-Print, need to complete the C-Print Request Form.
Service Providers are responsible for introducing themselves to the faculty member of each course or meeting/activity.
