Drexel University Office of Disability Services

Campus Guests

All campus guests need to complete the Campus Events Accommodation Request Form in order for auxiliary aids, accommodations, and services to be provided.

ODS recommends submitting individual requests as soon as possible, but at least three University working days¹ prior to the event. ODS considers all requests on a case-by-case basis and if necessary, ODS may request additional information from the guest, in order to facilitate the accommodation needs of the individual. Every effort will be made to secure accommodations in a timely fashion.

When equipment is provided to a person who has a disability, it is loaned on a temporary basis by ODS.

¹ University days means days when the University is open for normal business operations

Student Organizations and Events

Drexel University is committed to the opportunity for all students to participate in out-of-class activities and programs. When students with disabilities want to participate in a particular event/activity and need auxiliary aids, accommodations, or services in order to do so, students need to register with the Office of Disability Services (ODS) for the receipt of accommodations. ODS will make every attempt to provide accommodations, but priority will be given to those requests received at least three University days¹ prior to deadline for sign-up or from the date of the event, whichever date is earlier. A Campus Events Accommodation Request Form needs to be completed and submitted to ODS, as part of the request process. For additional information regarding requesting accommodations, go to: Requesting Accommodations.

Campus Field Trips, Meetings, & Events

When auxiliary aids, accommodations, and services are requested for participation in Drexel University field trips, meetings, or events, the determination of what constitutes a University activity rests with the University. For information regarding what constitutes a University activity, students, employees, and campus guests should contact the Office of Disability Services (ODS).

For requesting service providers for trips, events, or other activities, students need to complete the appropriate request form at ODS or on-line. For additional information regarding requesting accommodations, go to: Requesting Accommodations.

For activities hosted by fraternities and sororities, students are referred to the sponsoring organization for the facilitation and coordination of auxiliary aids and services.
