Handschumacher Dining Center - Creese Student Center

The Dining Center offers a marketplace style dining experience - a variety of themed food stations with continuous service, breakfast through dinner, enabling you to enjoy meals at times that are convenient for you.

Handschumacher Dining Center features a wide variety of fresh food designed to satisfy everyone's appetite with food choices to rival your favorite restaurants.

Important Info

Take 3 Meal Option
New this year for meal plan users is Take 3 - a great way to get a "meal to go" when you can't make it to the Handschumacher Dining Center.

  • Who: All Meal Plan Participants
  • What: Choose an Entree (sandwiches, salads, or wraps); a Side (fruit, vegetables or chips); and a Beverage (milk, bottled water, or soda). Then, use a meal from your meal plan to pay.
  • Where: Corner Cafe of Ross Commons
  • When: Available between 11am and 8pm Monday through Friday
  • How Often: Use Take 3 for up to one Lunch (11am - 4pm) and one Dinner (4pm - 8pm) per weekday.

 

Dining Center Food Policy
We know you will enjoy our food, but please remember, the Dining Center is "all-you-care-to eat" while you are in the Dining Center. Students and guests are not permitted to take food, beverages, or china out of the Dining Center. Students and guests who are found to be in violation of this policy will be referred to the Office of Judicial Affairs.

We Welcome Guests
If you would like to bring a guest to dine with you at the Dining Hall you may do so. The guest prices may be paid for in cash, with Meal Plan dollars, or with Dragon Dollars. Guest Meal Prices are as follows: Breakfast $5.75, Lunch $7.75, Dinner $9.25, Brunch $7.75.

  • Meal Passes may be purchased in advance by departments to use for guest meals or visitors. Passes can be charged to department accounts and do not expire. Contact Dining Services at 215.895.6199 to order passes.
  • Join Our Guest Dining Club – Pick up a Frequent Guest card at the dining center cashier stand. For every 9 Lunches you purchase, you receive a 10th for Free.

Creese Café featuring Freshens
Creese Café is a unique coffee and bagel shop located on the first floor of Creese Student Center. The Café offers a complete selection of specialty coffee options such as latte, cappuccino, espresso, and mocha. Freshly baked bagels, sandwiches, salads, wraps, and tempting pastries make the perfect complement to a great cup of coffee. Freshens blends up fresh fruit smoothies and delicious frozen yogurt treats like Micro Blasts and Sundaes.

 

Northside Market featuring Grill 155
Northside MarketNorthside Market is located on the first floor of Kelly Hall in the heart of the resident hall area. Northside Market is re-opening in Fall 2007. We have added a great new Grill 155 featuring all your grill favorites from burgers to quesadillas. We have added more grocery items to stock your rooms/apartments and Smart Market grab and go items including salads, sandwiches and wraps. Open late into the evening, Northside Market offers a range of food, from frozen dinners to freshly grilled cheesesteaks and fries. Northside Market also offers over 60 varieties of Frito-Lay snacks, Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream and other great snacks.

 

Ross Commons
Ross Commons is located on the corner of Powelton Avenue and N. 34th Street. Ross is a great place to hang out, shoot some pool, and watch sports or TV on one of the plasma screens. This location offers 3 great dining spots where you can dine-in or take-out.

  • Corner Cafe - offers tasty sandwiches, panini, and entrees such as Macaroni and Cheese, Baked Ziti and Lasagna. Salads are tossed fresh-to-order and come in a variety of options.
  • The Grille - offers a great selection of Grilled Sandwiches and Breakfast items such as omelets and eggs - prepared all day. Come in and enjoy a freshly prepared sandwich or try one of our Daily Value Specials.
  • Take 3 - A new option for meal plan users to get a "meal to go" when you can't make it to the Handschumacher Dining Center.

 

Starbucks Coffee at Pearlstein
Starbucks in the lobby of the Pearlstein Business Center at 33rd & Market Streets. Enjoy all of your favorites at Starbucks!

 

Queen Lane Café
Open for breakfast and lunch, Monday through Friday at the Queen Lane Campus.

 

University Club Dining Room
The University Club Dining Room is located on the 6th Floor of MacAlister Hall. The Dining Room is open for Lunch at the hours posted above. This is an "all you care to eat" buffet that includes a deli bar, salad bar, desserts and beverages. University Club members $6.50, Guests of Members $7.50, Non Members $8.50. Meal Plan meals are not accepted in the University Club during Fall, Winter and Spring Terms.

Faculty and Staff who are interested in becoming a member should call Jackie Eliassen at 215.895.6776 for details on the membership program. The daily menu for the University Club can be obtained by calling our Menu Hotline at ext. 2598.
