The Chamber Singers is a select group of 18 singers, chosen by audition from the University Chorus. The Chamber Singers performs, primarily, secular music from the Renaissance (Madrigals, Chansons, Partsongs). The group performs on the Chorus concert in the Fall and Spring, and does a pair of costumed, scripted, Madrigal Dinners in the Winter. The Chamber Singers rehearses once a week, on Wednesday evenings from 5:30-7:20 in the Main Auditorium. Click here to hear recordings of the group.
Audition information: Auditions for the Chamber Singers take place the first week of the fall term. The sign-up sheet is available at the first University Chorus rehearsal. The audition consists of singing a prepared solo* and sight reading. The group does not take new members in other terms. *the prepared solo should be for solo voice and piano; we will provide a pianist. Taped accompaniment may not be used for Chamber Singers' auditions.
