University Chorus

Chorus auditions consist of vocalizing, pitch matching and easy sight reading. Non-readers with good pitch retention can often get into the group.

A prepared piece of music is not needed for the audition.

Interested singers should come to the first fall quarter rehearsal on Monday, September 21 (5:30 in the Main Auditorium), sit in, and sign up for an audition time at the end of the rehearsal.

Singers in the group come from every College on the campus (Drexel has no music major).

Chamber Singers

The Chamber Singers audition consists of singing a prepared solo and sight reading.

The prepared solo should be a piece for solo voice and piano.

If you do not have a piece but wish to audition, talk to Dr. Powell at the first Chorus rehearsal and he will find a piece for you.

Auditions for the Chamber Singers take place during the first week of the fall term. There will be a sign up sheet at the first University Chorus rehearsal. New singers are not accepted the rest of the year.

You must sing in the Chorus to be eligible to sing in Chamber Singers. No exceptions.

Naturally Sharp

(Vocal Jazz Ensemble)

The Naturally Sharp audition consists of singing a prepared solo; sight reading is not required.

The prepared solo should be a piece for solo voice and piano. Taped accompaniment is not recommended, but can be accommodated.

If you do not have a piece but wish to audition, talk to Dr. Powell at the first Chorus rehearsal and he will find a piece for you.

Auditions for Naturally Sharp take place in the first week of the fall term. There will be a sign up sheet at the first University Chorus rehearsal. New singers are not accepted the rest of the year.

Gospel Choir

The Gospel Choir does not require an audition. Mr. Ross will be glad to listen to singers who need to audition for placement purposes.
